What is Udyam Registration?

Introduced by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) in 2020, Udyam Registration is a free, paperless, and self-declaration based online process for registering MSMEs. It replaced the erstwhile Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum (UAM).

Upon successful registration, an enterprise receives an e-certificate known as the Udyam Registration Certificate, which includes a unique, permanent 16-digit alphanumeric Udyam Registration Number (URN). This registration provides an official identity to MSMEs, enabling them to leverage government support for growth and development.
