How to Apply for a New Ration Card
The application process for a ration card in Delhi is managed by the Department of Food, Supplies & Consumer Affairs. You can apply for a new ration card online through the e-District portal.
Step 1: Get Your Documents Ready
Before you begin the online application, ensure you have the following documents ready for upload. All documents should be scanned copies.
- Proof of Residence: Aadhaar card, Voter ID, or any other government-issued address proof.
- Proof of Identity: Aadhaar card or Voter ID of all family members.
- Income Certificate: A valid income certificate issued by a competent authority.
- Family Photograph: A group photograph of the entire family.
- Proof of No Other Ration Card: A surrender certificate if you previously held a ration card in another state.
Step 2: Online Application Submission
Follow these steps to submit your application on the official e-District portal.
- Visit the e-District Portal: Go to the official e-District Delhi portal.
- Register and Login: If you are a new user, click on 'New User' and register with your Aadhaar number. If you are an existing user, log in using your User ID and password.
- Select the Service: Under the 'Services' section, find and click on "Issuance of New Ration Card."
- Fill the Form: Carefully fill out all the sections of the online application form. Provide details of all family members, your address, and income information.
- Upload Documents: Upload the scanned copies of the documents you prepared in Step 1.
- Final Submission: Review all the information, accept the terms and conditions, and submit the application. You will receive an application number for tracking.
How to Check Application Status & Download Card
After applying, you can easily track the status of your application online. Once approved, you can download a digital copy of your ration card.
Step 1: Check Application Status
Visit the e-District Delhi portal and click on the 'Track Your Application' link. Enter your application number, applicant's name, and the captcha code. The status of your application (e.g., Under Verification, Approved, Rejected) will be displayed.
Step 2: Download Your Ration Card
Once your application is approved, you can download your e-ration card from the official portal. You may need to visit the designated Food Circle office for final verification and to collect your physical card.
