Overview of Education Boards in Telangana

Telangana has two primary education boards: the Telangana State Board of Secondary Education (TSBSE) and the **Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE)**. These two bodies oversee secondary and intermediate (Class 11 and 12) education, respectively, and are responsible for curriculum, examination, and result declaration in the state.

Telangana Board of Secondary Education (TSBSE)

The TSBSE, also known as the Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE), is responsible for conducting the Class 10th (SSC) public examinations. It manages the curriculum, syllabus, and examinations for all schools affiliated with it. Its main duties include:

  • Conducting Public Examinations: The board administers the annual Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exams.
  • Affiliation: It grants affiliation to all public and private high schools in the state.
  • Result Declaration: The TSBSE declares the results and provides digital mark sheets and certificates to students.

Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE)

The TSBIE regulates and supervises the Intermediate (Class 11 and 12) education system in the state. It is responsible for setting the curriculum, conducting examinations, and managing junior colleges. Its functions include:

  • Conducting Intermediate Examinations: The TSBIE holds the Intermediate Public Examinations (IPE) for both first and second-year students.
  • Syllabus and Curriculum: It prescribes the syllabus and textbooks for all streams (science, commerce, and arts).
