About the Startup Tripura Policy

The **Tripura Start-Up Policy-2024**, launched with the vision of making Tripura a leading startup destination in the North East, provides a supportive ecosystem for new ventures. The policy is designed to encourage innovation, create wealth, and generate employment by offering a range of financial and institutional support to eligible startups.

Eligibility Criteria for Startups

To be recognized under the Startup Tripura Policy and avail benefits, an entity must meet the following criteria:

  • It must be incorporated as a Private Limited Company, Registered Partnership Firm, or Limited Liability Partnership (LLP).
  • The period of existence should not exceed 10 years from the date of incorporation.
  • The annual turnover should be less than ₹25 crores in any of the preceding financial years.
  • The startup must be working towards innovation, improvement of products/services, and have a scalable business model.
  • It should not have been formed by splitting up or reconstructing an existing business.
  • At least 50% of the salaried skilled workforce must be from Tripura.

Key Incentives & Benefits

Recognized startups can avail themselves of a variety of financial and non-financial incentives, including:

  • Seed Funding: A one-time grant of up to ₹2 lakhs to help with initial operations.
  • Operational Cost Reimbursement: A monthly reimbursement of up to ₹20,000 for operational costs for one year. Additional benefits are available for women-led and specially-abled led startups.
  • Prototype Development: Up to ₹10 lakhs in reimbursement for the development of prototypes.
  • Patent Filing: Reimbursement for the cost of patent filing, up to ₹2 lakhs for an Indian patent and ₹10 lakhs for a foreign patent.
  • Tax & GST Benefits: Reimbursement of applicable taxes and exemptions.
  • Marketing Support: Funding of up to ₹5 lakhs for marketing and publicity.

How to Apply for Recognition

The application process for the Startup Tripura scheme is conducted through the official online portal. Here are the general steps:

  1. Visit the Portal: Go to the official Startup Tripura website.
  2. Register: Create an account by providing your email and mobile number.
  3. Complete the Form: Fill out the detailed application form with information about your business, including its nature, scalability, and impact.
  4. Upload Documents: Submit required documents such as the Certificate of Incorporation, a detailed business plan (pitch deck), and financial statements.
  5. Submit: After reviewing the form, submit your application for review by the State Level Start-Up Council.
