About UP Scholarship (Saksham Portal)
The Uttar Pradesh Scholarship & Fee Reimbursement Scheme supports students from Pre-Matric (Class 9-10), Post-Matric Intermediate (Class 11-12), and Post-Matric (Other Courses: UG/PG/Professional/Outside State). Applications are accepted only through the official portal listed below.
Eligibility (Summary)
- Domicile: Applicant must be a resident of Uttar Pradesh.
- Course/Level: Studying in Class 9-10, 11-12, or Higher Education (UG/PG/Professional).
- Income Limits (typical):
- Pre-Matric: up to ₹1,00,000 per annum.
- Post-Matric (SC/ST): up to ₹2,50,000 per annum.
- Post-Matric (General/OBC/Minority): up to ₹2,00,000 per annum.

How to Apply (Step-by-Step)
- Open Portal: Visit scholarship.up.gov.in.
- Student → Registration: Choose Fresh (first-time) or Renewal (continuing) and select your scheme (Pre-Matric / Post-Matric / Outside State).
- Register: Fill basic details, category, institution/course info. Submit to get your Registration Number.
- Login: Use Student Login (Fresh/Renewal) with Registration No., DOB, and captcha.
- Fill Application: Enter personal, academic, and bank details; upload required documents.
- Submit & Print: Final submit. Download/print the application.
- Submit to Institution: Submit the signed printout with documents to your school/college (if instructed for the session).
- Verification & Status: Track at Status; institution/district verifies; payment via DBT on approval.
Note: Physical submission and exact timelines vary by session. Follow the latest portal notification.
How to Check Status
- Go to scholarship.up.gov.in → Status.
- Select session/year and scheme, then enter your registration details.
- View application stage: Institute/ District verification, Treasury processing, or DBT credited.
Important Tips
- Use your own bank account linked with Aadhaar; name must match academic records.
- Upload clear, readable documents (size & format as per portal).
- Keep your registration number and print receipt safely.
- Watch the portal's Notifications/Announcements for dates & correction windows.
OTR Registration Process (UP Scholarship)
- Click on "OTR Registration / One Time Registration." Visit OTR Registration
- Read the Terms and Conditions (Guidelines) and tick "I Agree."
- Mobile Number Verification:
- Select your category/caste (SC, ST, OBC, General, Minority, etc.).
- Enter your mobile number linked with Aadhaar.
- Receive an OTP and verify your mobile number.
- Complete Aadhaar e-KYC: Enter your Aadhaar number and complete biometric or other verification as required.
- OTR Number Generation: Your OTR number will be generated and sent to your registered mobile number, and it will also appear on the screen.
- Download/Print OTR Slip: Save or print your OTR slip/receipt - it will be required for future scholarship applications.
Note: Keep your OTR number safe. It is mandatory for future UP Scholarship applications.
