About Dr. YSR Aarogyasri Scheme

Dr. YSR Aarogyasri is a flagship health initiative by the Government of Andhra Pradesh aimed at providing quality medical care to the Below Poverty Line (BPL) families. It offers cashless treatment for a wide range of diseases, covering hospitalization, surgery, and post-operative care.

The scheme ensures financial protection against catastrophic health expenditures, allowing beneficiaries to avail treatment in empaneled private and government hospitals.

Extensive Coverage for Critical Illnesses

  • Cashless Treatment: Beneficiaries receive cashless treatment from the time of admission to discharge, including consultation, investigations, medicines, implants, and follow-up services.
  • Disease Coverage: Covers over 2,446 medical and surgical procedures for various ailments including cancer, heart diseases, kidney diseases, neurological conditions, etc.
  • Financial Limit: Provides coverage up to ₹5 lakh per family per annum on a floater basis.
  • Network Hospitals: Treatment available in a vast network of empaneled private and government hospitals across Andhra Pradesh and in some super-specialty hospitals in other major cities.
  • Follow-up Services: Post-discharge follow-up services and medication are also covered for up to 30 days.

Eligibility Criteria

Who Can Avail Aarogyasri Benefits?

  • All permanent residents of Andhra Pradesh.
  • Families holding a valid White Ration Card (BPL families).
  • Families with an annual income below ₹5 lakh.
  • Families possessing certain types of land or with specific consumption patterns may also be excluded based on detailed criteria.
  • Government employees, pensioners, and certain categories of taxpayers are generally excluded.

Application and Enrollment Process

How to Get Your Aarogyasri Health Card

Eligible families generally receive the Aarogyasri Health Card automatically based on their White Ration Card data. If you have not received it or need assistance:

  1. Ration Card Verification: Ensure your family possesses a valid White Ration Card.
  2. Village/Ward Sachivalayam: Approach your nearest Village/Ward Sachivalayam (Secretariat) for assistance with enrollment or verification of your details.
  3. Jagananna Suraksha Camps: The government often conducts special camps like Jagananna Suraksha for grievance redressal and issuing various government services, including Aarogyasri cards.
  4. Online Verification: While direct online application for a new card may not be available, you can check your status and find information on the official portal.

Upon enrollment, a unique Health Card is issued, which must be presented at empaneled hospitals to avail cashless services.

Seamless Medical Care

  1. Identify Empaneled Hospital: Find a hospital empaneled under the Aarogyasri scheme for your specific treatment. A list is available on the official website.
  2. Present Health Card: Show your Aarogyasri Health Card at the hospital's Aarogyamitra counter or reception.
  3. Verification: The hospital will verify your eligibility and details using your Health Card.
  4. Cashless Treatment: Once verified, you can avail the cashless treatment as per the scheme's coverage.
  5. Post-Discharge: Receive necessary medicines and follow-up instructions. The cost for follow-up care is also covered.
