Overview of Online Police Services

The Rajasthan Police has digitized several of its citizen services to provide a more efficient and transparent system. Citizens can now file online complaints and reports for lost articles, as well as register a First Information Report (FIR) for specific crimes through the official Rajasthan Police website. This initiative aims to reduce the need for physical visits to police stations for non-emergency situations.

Lost Article Report (LAR)

The Lost Article Report system is a quick and simple way to report the loss of personal documents or items. This service is for reporting a lost item, not a crime. It is a mandatory step for obtaining duplicate copies of documents like Aadhaar cards, driving licenses, or mobile phones. An online-generated acknowledgment report with a unique **Lost Article Report Number (LR No.)** is provided, which can be used for future reference and is accepted by various government departments.

E-FIR and Online Complaint

For more serious offenses, the Rajasthan Police has an e-FIR system. While e-FIRs are currently available for specific cases like vehicle theft, the portal also allows for the registration of general complaints. These online complaints serve as a formal record and are forwarded to the relevant police station for review. For most crimes, police verification at the station is required to convert a complaint into a formal FIR.
